Dear Cheyenne Parents,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to supporting your children for a productive and positive school year here at Cheyenne Traditional School. Here is some important information:

2008-2009 staff:

Out- Mrs. Prior (retired), Mr. Bell (resigned), Ms. Mealha (resigned), Ms. Wagoner (moved out of state), Mrs. Maguire (moved out of state), Mrs. Washo (leave of absence) and Mrs. Mattioda (leave of absence). Changes- Ms. Loreto (from 6/7 grade Spanish to Kindergarten), Mrs. Crouser (from LRC to 4th grade) and Mrs. Sedlak (from Noon Duty Aide to Front Office Assistant).

Welcome new teachers to Cheyenne - Ms. Self (6/7 Language Arts), Ms. Southgate (6/7 Humanities), Ms. Preciado (6/7 Spanish), Ms. Sepulveda (First grade) and Mrs. Strohmyer (Strings and General Music).

Uniform Policy
Last school year, the Cheyenne Site Council made revisions to our Uniform Policy, so please be sure to check the policy prior to purchasing your student's school clothes. Find the Uniform Policy here.

August 8 - Rise and Shine
Be sure to mark your calendar for Friday, August 8th from 8 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. At that time, the PTO will be available in the school cafeteria for membership and general questions. Class lists, supply lists and bus schedules will be available. Mrs. Caldwell, Cheyenne's Cafeteria Manager, will be accepting checks/cash to set up your child's lunch account.

Also on August 8th, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., students in grades K - 8 can meet their teacher at their classroom. Students in grades K-5 may bring their school supplies to place in their desks. Supply lists can be found here.

NOTE: August 8th will be the only available day to come on campus to locate your child's classroom prior to the first day of school. Class lists will be posted again on Monday, August 11th outside the front of the school office. PTO staff will be available to assist you.

Special Notes

We have paid positions available for Kindergarten Aide, Lunch Duty Aides and Crossing Guard!!!!! Days are flexible. Contact Mark Haugen (480-484-5605).
We will be switching from a six-day special area schedule to a five-day schedule.

o August 12th - 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - 1st Grade Orientation Night (meet in child's classroom)
o August 13th - 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - 4th Grade Orientation Night (meet in child's classroom)
o August 14th - 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Band/Strings instrument rental (cafeteria)
o August 14th - 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. - 2nd Grade Orientation Night (meet in child's classroom)
o August 14th - 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - 3rd Grade Orientation Night (meet in child's classroom)
o August 18th - 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. - 5th Grade Orientation Night (meet in Cafeteria)
o August 19th - 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. - 6th Grade Orientation Night (meet in Cafeteria)
o August 19th - 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. - 7th-8th Grades Orientation Night (meet in Cafeteria)
